For your viewing pleasure is this beautiful and rare early Ludwig & Ludwig No. 310 bass drum pedal. This vintage pedal debuted in the 1923 catalog as the Improved Original Ludwig Pedal. The footboard design has been upgraded from the original making it a longer, one-piece board and centering the hinge under the player's heel, attached to the new metal plate that was added for strength. Pedal designs were changing quickly during the 20s and this version didn't last long before Ludwig changed it again a couple years later adding the more commonly seen "hump" double beater holder cam. This all original Chicago-made pedal is in great condition with minimal aging on the 100+ year old metal finishes. It still has a smooth feel, owing to the efficient direct lever design. It was truly quite the innovation when it came out. It includes the original beater which has a normal amount of wear for being a century old. This is ready to be a showpiece in the finest of vintage drum collections and would even be fit to play again. Enjoy!
