For your viewing pleasure is this rare vintage Ludwig & Ludwig Bb tuning bar from 1940. It's in great condition and rings just as true as it did 80+ years ago. The aluminum bar measures 11" long and is suspended above the wooden enclosure. It is missing one of the felt feet but stands flat and the original mallet got a tiny eye ring installed and a shoestring tied to the original mounting ring so it doesn't get lost. The tuning on these was so exact that Ludwig guaranteed the exact pitch when measured at 74 degrees. We tested it in our air conditioned shop, closer to 72 degrees, and it indeed measured as 466.8Hz.
