For your kind consideration is this rare vintage set of Ludwig Two-Tone snare wires from the 50 through 1960s. They've never been installed as evidenced by the straight gut section and are in new old stock condition. Two-Tone wires first appear in the 1948 WFL catalog with equal length of gut and wire as part number P109. This version with the alternating lengths is first shown in the 1955 WFL catalog as both No. P-109 and model Q and they were ordered by overall length including the snare plate. These measure at just over 21-1/2" long and feature the two hole snare plate with string that would have been used on P-87 style strainers instead of the wider three hole plate meant for Classic strainers. The wire and gut appear to be securely attached to one another after all these years. This was marketed in 1960 as "the greatest snare advancement in years" saying they provided the sensitivity of wire snares with the power and volume of gut snares. Definitely a super cool innovation. Enjoy!
