For your prime viewing pleasure is this stunning Slingerland No.153 Super Gene Krupa Radio King 5.5"x14" solid shell snare drum in Black Diamond Pearl. This drum is all original aside from heads and wires and has the first version of the Bronze / Black badge which dates to 1956-59. It's in great condition with some light signs of age. The original chrome over brass hoops have some pinpoint pitting and a spot or two of chrome loss. The Super Strainer, (or clam shell, as it is sometimes referred), operates perfectly and has the original wires which are missing a couple strands but still sound great. The double padded No. 1080 tone control also operates smoothly. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. It tunes up wonderfully, and produces the gorgeous sonic signature that can only come from a Slingerland snare of this vintage that has seasoned for over 65 years. This drum would equally be at home among the finest of collections, stages or studios. Enjoy!
