1940s WFL Ludwig 6" & 8" Tunable Bongos No. 2356 Blue Flash Pearl Sparkle
1940s WFL Ludwig 6" & 8" Tunable Bongos No. 2356 Blue Flash Pearl Sparkle
Condition: Vintage
For your kind consideration is this set of vintage WFL tunable bongos from late 40s. These are in overall great structural condition and have vintage vibe for days with the crackling in what was called at the time Blue Flash Pearl wrap. This style with keystone badges on drum and no holes in the center block was only shown in the 1948 WFL catalog. The bongos both measure 5.5" deep and are 6" and 8" in diameter. While the WFL badges were removed at some point, these do still have their original nickel over brass hoops and nickel lugs. Modern tension rods make these easy to tune with the smooth white Ludwig Ensemble bongo heads and they have a great tone. There are two extra holes on the 8" drum as shown in the last photo where a mount was added at some point. The 6" has what looks to be two small holes that were filled and are now covered by the mounting block, likely from a similar mount. These will make a terrific player's set for any vintage WFL Ludwig or bongo enthusiast. Enjoy!
