For your supreme viewing pleasure is this sweet vintage Rogers Tower drum set from the 1960s in gorgeous blue glass glitter sparkle. Tower drums were the Cadillacs of 60’s center lug drum sets, and this one speaks particularly well with refined authority and warm articulation. The combination of old-growth maple shells with lower metal-mass from less lugs, along with Rogers 45 degree bearing edges proved to be an extremely resonant and musical marriage. They have a streamlined and elegant look. One other distinctive feature is that Rogers used 8 lugs on their floor toms instead of the 6 lugs seen on the center lug offerings of other major USA manufacturers of the day. Sonically, they are everything you could hope for in a Rogers Cleveland era set, with the killer tuning range that they’re known for. The Delta Outfit drums all have flat gray interiors and Cleveland Tower tags. The edges are original and true except for one small nick in the bass resonant edge as shown, which does not affect the tone or tuning in any way. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind to the shells. The hoops and rods are all matching modern replacements and the floor tom has a Fullerton era white felt muffler.
