For your viewing pleasure is this vintage Gretsch 5.5x14 No. 4157 Name Band snare drum in a stunning Champagne Sparkle. All original aside from bottom snare head and wires. The paper label is still intact and has a four digit serial number of 4XXX, dating it to 1962. This drum has been very well cared for and displays beautifully. The original tone control and micro-sensitive strainer are fully functional and look nice. This drum has no extra holes. As is commonly seen on Gretsch drums, especially thick glass glitter sparkle finishes, a small area of wrap under the hoop has been removed so the head can fit (this is completely hidden when the heads and hoops are on). The bearing edges are true and original with a coupe small spots of factory wood filler. The badge is nice and tight with a beautiful patina. The interior looks great with original silver sealer paint. All of the chrome is in good condition. The bearing edges are true and original, and the drum tunes up easily and sounds magnificent.
