For your viewing pleasure is this lovely Ludwig Jazzette set from the first year the Jazzette outfit was catalogued (and in the same finish as cataloged in '67). This born-together May 1 1967 set (stamped inside the bass & 12" tom shells) is completely original with exception of new Ludwig Weather Master coated heads (beautiful front bass drum head is the original!). There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. All of the bearing edges are true and original. As vintage Ludwig enthusiasts know, while the walnut finish is extremely attractive and just oozes '60s jazz vibe, it gets brittle with age and flakes easily. The shells are not damaged where the finish has flaked off. Personally, we think the played look of this set is incredibly cool, and exudes extreme charter and experience. As one would imagine, it tunes up like an absolute champ and sounds like only a vintage seasoned Mahogany Ludwig Jazzette can. The fact that this was Ludwig's only mahogany outfit offered at the time makes it truly unique. Enjoy!
