This gorgeous one owner Slingerland set recently acquired from the original owner who purchased them new in 1968 is identical to the "New Rock Outfit" from the 1969 catalog. The blue agate wrap is extra clean and beautiful showing very few signs of age. There is a hairline scratch just above and to the left of one of the bass drum spurs. No extra holes or modifications of any kind. 100% original with exception of heads (the front logo bass drum head is original). A short piece of inlay on one of the bass hoops was missing which was replaced with a perfect piece of correct Slingerland blue agate inlay. One of the bass hoops had some paint chips touched up. The chrome is in overall excellent condition with just a bit of flaking on the bottom side 16" hoop. All of the mufflers function perfectly. Original and correct "PAT APLD FOR" aluminum Set-O-Matic tom mount and mounting bracket (in use from 1968-69). The beautiful black and brass Niles badges are nice and tight with rarely seen back to back sequentially numbered 6 digit serial #'s 226XXX. The bearing edges are true and original. Most importantly, they all tune up perfectly and sound beautiful. These would equally be at home amongst the finest of collections, studios, or stages. Enjoy!
