For your kind consideration is this rare 1980s Tama 20" Superstar Gong Bass Drum in Super Maple. It's in fantastic condition and sounds amazing. Ever so slight marks on the shell, one spot of oxidation on the hoop, and superficial splitting of just the outer ply in one section which is merely cosmetic in nature and does not affect the integrity or tuning of the drum in any way (see pics). It is a gorgeous drum and looks great set up. It still has the original head which is a testament to how little use it's seen over the years. The Tama Gong Bass Drum was developed in cooperation with Billy Cobham to extend the melodic range of his Tama set. This unique drum has a very deep, but very clear and resonant tone. Single headed in construction, the Gong Bass uses a head 2 inches larger in diameter than the shell. This allows for maximum freedom of vibration. Enjoy!
