1960s Leedy Shelly Manne 22/13/16 Light (Sky) Blue Pearl Drum Set

For your viewing pleasure is this fantastic and rarely seen Leedy Shelly Manne drum set in light blue pearl (as cataloged by Leedy).  This is actually just like the set in the 1960 catalog, same wrap color and everything! These Leedys were built in the Slingerland factory, while under their ownership, so they share all of the same features as Slingerland except for the Leedy lugs, badge, and T's.  And just like Slingerland, they did not put badges on the toms until the late 1960s.  There are no extra holes or modifications.  The bass drum and floor tom came together, and both have mahogany interiors. The floor tom is date stamped DEC 1960. The 13" tom, which has a maple interior, was added later and has a June 1965 internal date stamp. The 13" tom is a little darker shade of light blue pearl than the bass drum and floor tom. and the set looks very nice when all set up. The wrap is in great condition on all three drums, there is a small area of tape residue on the floor tom.  The T's are all the same style, but a few are slightly different.  The T's are a little harder to turn on the bass drum than on some, but we tuned it up with no problems. All of the edges are true and original, and the set tunes up and sounds fantastic.  Be the only drummer on your block with a rare and handsome Leedy Shelly Manne outfit!  Enjoy!
