For your extreme viewing pleasure is this gorgeous vintage WFL 5.5x14 Supreme Concert snare drum. Supreme Concert snares were the predecessors of the No. 491 Pioneer model snare and feature the standard P-83 strainer prior to the introduction of the Pioneer strainer, and offered the 5.5" depth instead of 5". Internal date stamp reads AUG 6 1958. This snare is a looker in a beautifully aged and very rarely seen Red/White Duco lacquer. There are a few surface dings and scuffs as shown on this otherwise very clean finish. This transitional era drum has a Ludwig stamped 1st gen. P83 strainer paired with correct WFL butt plate. The original lugs and brass hoops are in great condition, as are the original wires. No additional holes or modifications of any kind. The modern heads fit well and this drum tunes up easily and sounds fantastic. Enjoy!
