For your viewing pleasure is this rare & desirable Slingerland Radio King Super Gene Krupa 5.5"x14" snare drum built with Slingerland's legendary single ply solid shell, & wrapped in their iconic Capri Pearl finish. The opal flakes used in the wrap are iridescent, giving off hints of pink, purple & green when rocked back & forth in the light. This drum is 100% original down to the heads & wires, & dates to 1959-61. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. The Super strainer, (or clam shell, as it is sometimes referred to as), looks beautiful & operates perfectly, as does the double padded tone control. This piece has been very well cared for throughout the years & is a quite a sight to behold. It tunes up wonderfully, & produces the heavenly sonic signature that can only be realized with a vintage, old growth, solid maple shell Slingerland snare that has seasoned for well over 50 years.
