For your extreme viewing pleasure is this incredible Slingerland 4x14 Buddy Rich snare drum. It has been very well cared for, and is in exemplary condition with no damage or flaws to speak of. This 3 ply beauty was built with a chocolate milk interior shell. 1970 was the last year of chocolate milk interiors, and the first year of the black and silver Niles badge. That, along with the low 4 digit serial # of 11XX indicate that this drum was built in 1970 which would put it among the very first of this model, as the first time it was cataloged was 1970. The double flanged chrome over brass stick-chopper hoops that Buddy favored were exclusive to this drum, and these hoops are beauties! All of these BR hoops have the slightest wave where they were seemed together due to the manufacturing process, which is almost unnoticeable unless you're looking for it, and it has no affect on the fit or tuning. The strainer and muffler both operate smoothly. Aside from a Remo Ambassador top head, this drum is 100% original including the bottom head, wires, and tension rods. Most importantly, it tunes up easily and sounds amazing! If you've been on the hunt for one of these and only the nicest example will do, this is the snare drum for you. Enjoy!
