It comes re-wrapped in a breathtaking, original, no longer made 1960s Ludwig Oyster Black Pearl. This re-wrap was done a very long time ago, most likely in the 1960s, when this stunning 1st version of the wrap was in current production. Aside from the wrap, heads, and wires, this drum is all original. It is Gene Krupa's requested 6.5x14 size. The original pre-war cloud badge dates it to 1937-43. The strainer is the short lived older style with two mini dials on the butt plate. Typical wear on the hardware and hoops that you would expect from age, nothing excessive. This solid shell snare has no extra holes or modifications and the bearing edges are true and original. Most importantly, it tunes up with the greatest of ease and sounds fantastic.
