For your kind consideration is this vintage TEAC 3340S in excellent condition. It's recently been serviced by Chicago's very finest Audio and HI-FI tech and has a clean bill of health, which includes a 1-year fully transferable warranty. The low speed recording is 7 1/2 IPS and the high speed setting is 15 IPS. Cosmetically this unit is in fantastic condition and ready to go. Pinch roller actuation arm seized, completely disassembled and returned to proper operation; capstan front and rear bearings oiled (synthetic); capstan motor front and rear shaft oiled (synthetic); capstan rear thrust bearings (felt) de-greased and fresh synthetic grease applied; capstan turned/polished along entire tape contact area; guide posts rotated to fresh non-grooved surfaces; all front and rear thrust washers replaced for lead-out pulleys, pinch roller assembly; entire tape path cleaned of all oxide including capstan, pinch roller, erase, record, & playback heads, tape guides and leading slot for supply side at erase head' entire tape patch demagnetized including capstan, all guides/posts, and all 3 heads (disconnected from bias circuit and pre-amp stages); all switches cleaned and rinsed including output level trim; supply and take-up hub height set to correct depth; back tension set for both sized reels; capstan speed verified for 7-1/2ips & 15ips referenced to MRL alignment spool at 1kHz, external frequency counted; head azimuth set at 10kHz referenced to MRL alignment spool for equal in-phase amplitude; PB equalization/level set per NAB standard; record bias and equalization set for standard. Operating as designed. *note* ENTIRE tape path MUST be kept ABSOLUTELY clean and spotless, at all times!
