For your viewing pleasure is this awesome vintage Ludwig & Ludwig No. 37 4x14 Thumb Rod snare drum from the 1910s. It's in overall all great condition and sounds awesome! Whether you're playing turn of the century music or want a unique sound for your studio, this snare will bring the vibe. This 16-lug version with the more slender thumb screw rods first appeared in the 1914 catalog. It features a solid walnut shell with maple reinforcement rings and solid maple hoops. The Ludwig Professional strainer functions properly and it includes the original silk wire snares which are all intact and tension well except one that unraveled that is still present. There is one extra hole near the butt plate where it was switched at some point, three holes in the top hoop of unknown origin, and a small split on the bottom hoop near the snares as shown in the photos. This antique drum has clearly been well taken care of well in over a century that it's been around. Even cooler is the original "Ludwig & Ludwig Chicago" stamp that is branded on the interior. It's sporting a modern Evan coated G1 head on top and vintage Ludwig Weather Master snare side on bottom and it tunes up well. Truly an awesome, playable piece of history that would be at home in the finest collections and studios. Enjoy!
