For your viewing pleasure is this excellent example of a 1979-80 Sonor Phonic drum set in wonderful originalcondition. These well cared for beauties look absolutely debonair in the High Gloss Black finish, and there are very few signs of age. The hoops on the 14" tom and bottom of the 16" tom have some nicks to the chrome and a few areas of rust/oxidation. The set was used for about one year before being put away, and they were transported and stored in hard cases. They sound as one would hope and expect with that very musical and distinct Sonor Phonic sound that only their proprietary 9ply Beachwood shells can deliver. This auction includes the valuable and sought after floor tom stand with dual cymbal boom arms, one of the 3 ratcheting arms (the one that holds the stage-right side cymbal arm) does not spring actuate, but it still functions perfectly for tightening and loosening the arm and may be easily remedied. Nearly 40 year old Phonics don't come much nicer than these, so don't let them pass you by. They would be equally at home amongst the nicest of collections, studios, or stages. Enjoy!
