For your extreme viewing pleasure is this rare vintage WFL 12x16 No. 432 Twin Strainer Chief field snare drum. Aside from the heads, this beauty is all original down to the twin strainers with gut and silk wire-wound snares that were what set this model apart. The heavy gut snares provided full field drum volume and depth and the wire wound silk provided the quick response and sensitivity. Both full extension snare strainers are fully functional. The original nickel claws, T's, and eight separate tension tube lugs have all aged beautifully. The original sling carrying hook is present as is the key holder and original WFL drum key, and they are all in excellent condition. The WFL Lyre badge is in great condition, is nice and tight, and dates this to the late '30s. The 3-ply mahogany shell with maple rings is in terrific condition with barely a mark on it and the wood hoops also show next to no signs of use or aging. There are no extra holes or modification and the drum tunes up well. This is a truly special drum that would look great in any collection and would sound awesome in the studio or back on the field. Enjoy!
